Foot Well
There used to be a foot well at the wheel station on the starboard side of the boat on the aft deck. It was about 2 feet deep and well, as big around as the hole above.... We felt that it would only serve as a glorified water trap during storms, so thanks to the nature of steel boats, we cut it out and replaced it so the deck is even.
The foot well after removal.
Tamer, grinding the surface to prepare for welding the new deck piece in.
Welding in the new piece for a clean smooth even deck.
Blayde looking up at the new 'empty space' that is now inside the aft cabin of the boat above his workshop area. Unfortunately all of the cutting, grinding, and welding left his area quite a mess. Blayde now has a little jewelry workshop set up here to polish stones and prepare them for various types of adornment.
