Windlass Installation
The forward portion of the deck; on the right is the hatch to the anchor locker, the left is the hole left behind after removing the cleat that was there. This was done to make room for the windlass.
The plate that Tamer welded to the deck to strengthen the area for the Anchor Windlass installation.
The windlass in place!
The new hole that has been cut to reinstall the cleat in it's new location.
While working in this area Tamer also did some repairs to the hatch cover for the anchor locker. Originally, the cover fit down into the hatchway, and was then flush with the deck. (see the first picture of this post) Unfortunately this allowed a lot of water to drain right into the locker. He welded a piece of angle iron around the hole on the deck, and now the cover sits up and the anchor locker is protected for the elements.
