Deck Work
This is the old anchor locker hatch cover. As you can see in this photo, it was designed in such a way that it was almost impossible to prepare for new paint. There are LOTS of uneven edges, and protrusions, that make it almost impossible to grind to bare metal. If you prepare a piece of steel such as this, and then you leave a minuscule area of rust, you can bet there will be failures in your paint system in short order. So, my sweet guy built me a whole new one, with none of the problems that the old one had.
Here are the newly sanded and freshly painted windows in the salon cabin top, the cargo hold cover, and the dorades. The rest of the area is sanded/ground and ready to paint.
Here is Valin grinding the forward most cleat. He is becoming quite good with the grinder!! Good job Valin :-)
