Drake's Berth & The Pilot Berth
Drake's berth is on the Starboard side of the Salon and had to be insulated, and have tongue and groove installed before he moved in. Sounds easy, doesn't it?? Hmmmm....... Well, after finding a place for everything that was stored in there, washing it down with bleach water, sanding any exposed metal, applying a coat of U Prime to those areas, templating the spaces that needed foam, cutting the foam, foaming in the foam, and putting the tongue and groove in place; we could look back and say, "Wow, that was easy!"

A view of the berth, all ready for Drake to sleep in!
A close-up shot of the sleeping bag Drake is so proud of :-) Thanks Sarah!!

looks of utter shock!
Actually, we decided to make the aft cabin and the pilot berth completely separate from one another. It used to be that you entered the aft cabin, went to port, and were in the pilot berth area. We installed a wall to close off that path, and then cut a doorway from the galley into the cabin.
