Yacht Basin To Bunch Beach
Many people do not realize the little differences between living on land and living aboard. So instead of parking your car in your garage/driveway, we tie off the dinghy in wind and waves to board our ship. Generally we have a boarding ladder off of the port (left)side of the boat, but depending on the water conditions it is sometimes easier to board from the aft (back) of the boat.
Our good friend Gina joined us for the day trip from Ft. Myers Yacht Basin to Bunch Beach (near Ft. Myers Beach). She had come in to run me around the day before to provision, and just decided to stay. Looking back with fond memories of this day, I miss the sails that needed sweatshirts :-)
Piloting through the most treacherous area during the trip out of the Caloosahatchee River. It is REALLY narrow, REALLY shallow, and REALLY busy. It has been nicknamed 'The Miserable Mile', and is circled by the Tow Boat US folks. We made it through fine of course, because I have the finest Skipper around!
