The boardwalk from the Fort bridge across the moat towards the ocean.

All the boys walking ahead in search of the pirates loot....
Captain Moody a dreaded pirate who was running from the armed soldiers in the Fort, had left us clues/riddles to where he hid the BIG treasure. Because it happened to be Easter Sunday, the clues were accompanied by plastic eggs full of the best booty ever ~ Chocolate! We had a wonderful 2 hour exciting egg hunt, the best yet!

These boats were abandoned by boat loads of Cubans immigrants. Once their foot touches the dry land of the Tortugas, they are allowed to immigrate to the United States. The Dry Tortugas happen to be the closest US soil to Cuba.

Cool cacti.

Who ever knew that a school history lesson could be sooooooo fun, and that you could be sooooooo very under dressed :-)

On top of the Fort, we found old cannons, and neat lighthouses. (and don't forget the chocolate!)

This building is called the Magazine, it was where the soldiers stored powder for their ammunitions.

View across the moat.

From one of the second floor cannon windows.

Me and the boys just giving a little wave out to all of you!

It was such an amazing, quiet, beautiful place, that the pictures do not even do it justice.

THE BIG BOOTY has been located and is quickly being consumed!

My dear Shep (AKA Captain Moody), after a quick swim off the beach.

Were you the only ones there? I love the whole "under-dressed" thing...that's what real learning is all about!
